This year’s UMAMI ARENA was a great success with very positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. Director Torill Engelberg has now announced that the next UMAMI ARENA will be held as early as 2025. With this, the frequency of the event will be increased from every three to every two years.
Over 400 businesses and more than 25,000 visitors participated in UMAMI ARENA this year. A broad professional programme with 75 programme items and 11 high-quality Norwegian championships were intended to provide professional input and inspiration. The high level of interest in the event clearly confirms that UMAMI ARENA is Norway’s largest and most important meeting place for everyone who works with food and drink. Following the event, exhibitors have also given good feedback on UMAMI ARENA as a channel for sales, marketing and networking.
Save the dates: 18-20 March 2025
SMAK – now; UMAMI ARENA has historically been held every third year, but Director Torill Engelberg is now launching changes in step with the times.
“The pace is increasing and changes are occurring more rapidly. We are following developments, and accordingly NOVA Spektrum wants to have a clearer presence for the food and beverage industry, in the same way as we are also a distinctive arena for the shipping environment every other year with Nor-Shipping.
“With UMAMI ARENA every two years, we can build further on the good stories as a highly valued arena for all those working with food and drink. In this way, we will continue to bring together the breadth of different actors in the overall value chain from sea and soil to table.
“UMAMI ARENA will be an important marketplace where exhibitors can showcase their products and services in a good way for customers, partners and business associates. This lays the foundation for new market opportunities and increased competitiveness in one of Norway’s largest and most important industries,” says Engelberg.
Changes give new opportunities
As we now increase the frequency to every two years, we will also change the number of days for the event. 80% of our exhibitors respond that they want three days. Therefore, UMAMI ARENA will be held from Tuesday to Thursday in 2025, and provide the opportunity for three good working days for the exhibitors.
Furthermore, we will expand with a new product area. The Durable trade fair, which has previously been held in parallel with UMAMI ARENA, will in 2025 be part of UMAMI ARENA with its own area for packaging and production.
Planning of UMAMI ARENA 2025 is well underway
The aim is to repeat the success of this year’s event in combination with even greater scope and representation. “We are delighted at the prospect of welcoming all exhibitors and visitors back to us on 18-20 March 2025,” says Engelberg.
“We are now launching an Early Bird offer for exhibitors, which will be valid until 1 July 2023. So I would encourage all those who can make a decision now to sign up. Here it is possible to save money and, not least, to secure the desired location,” she concludes.
